Social housing shortage projected to take over a century to resolve

Research by Shelter indicates it would take more than 119 years to clear social housing waiting lists in England at the current building rate, with only 12,198 new homes built last year. The charity warns that without increased construction, communities will continue to suffer from homelessness and children may be trapped in insecure living conditions for generations.
